- Vacuum your carpets as frequently as possible. Dirt and soil tracked onto your carpets is more easily removed when it is fresh. It is the ground in dirt that gets trapped in your carpets that will wreak havoc on your carpets.
- Spot clean your carpets immediately. Stains that are allowed to remain in your carpet will become more difficult to remove over time. As a stain dries and settles into your carpets, it tends to “hold” to the fibers. Having a neutral spot cleaner readily available to your office staff or cleaning crew will help to avoid aggravating long-term or permanent stains.
- BLOT, don’t RUB. When spotting your carpets, don’t rub or scrub at a soiled area on your carpet. With your neutral spotter applied to a clean white cloth or towel, BLOT the area to try to transfer as much of the soil into the cloth as possible. When you rub or scrub at a stain, it tend to grind the soil into the carpet fiber, making it much more difficult to release.
